Left to right, Norma, Nuna, and Liz
I enjoy painting with this group of ladies from Excelsior Place. We have alot of fun, lots of kidding and teasing goes on in the class time. Occasionally I hear some "whining", that they can't do it and they want to quit, but I tell them no "whining" is allowed and with some help, they finish their painting and it is a beautiful piece of art. When I put a mat around their painting for "show and tell" and I critique it, they are amazed with the finished product.
The residents at both facilities look forward to the classes. One lady told me "this painting class is the highlight of my life". Teaching these classes gives me such satisfaction and I am blessed to have this opportunity to bring a bit of enjoyment into their lives.
One more thing......Liz was selected as a finalist in the Assisted Living Federation of America Senior Living Art Showcase for one of her paintings. She was chosen out of over 200 artists. Good for you, Liz! I'm proud of you
