Publicity for Lois' Breads

This has been an exciting summer with our bread business.  About a month after we moved our bread sales operation from the Westgate Mall to our home, we got a visit from Steve Kohls, who is a photographer with the Brainerd Dispatch newspaper.  He was driving by and saw the "bread" signs at our driveway as well as seeing bread sells going on in the white tent in our yard.  He pulled in and visited with some of our customers.  What he learned tweaked his interest. He came up to our house and visited with me a few minutes.  He asked me when I would be baking for our next sales. When I told him, he asked if he could come and watch and video tape me.  He taped the whole bread making process from grinding the grain into flour to the finished product, where he sampled the fresh warm-out-of-the oven bread with honey butter lathered on it.  The following Wed. there was a very impressive article in the Brainerd Dispatch written by editor Frank Lee and also including  some of Steve's Kohls photographs.  That article can be seen in the May 6th issue of the newspaper.  I am very grateful for the publicity from that article and  also the two gifted men who wrote it. It increased our sales so much that we had to drop our Tues. sales.  I couldn't do it all since I was baking almost every day of the week. Since that time, we have been open for sales just on Friday.  You can read the article and see the video at www.brainerddispatch.com

A few weeks after that incident, I was approached by staff from Lakeland Public Television , who also was just "passing by" and saw my signs, which interested them to learn more  about our operation.  The video segment was aired on the 10:00 p.m. news.  That can be seen at this site:  https://lptv.org/brainerd-baker-selling-bread-out-of-her-house
